ndonesian fashion labels have found another way to break into the global market with the Jakarta Fashion and Food Festival’s (JF3) PINTU Incubator program, which is expected to send two of the most promising brands to the Premiere Classe trade show during Paris Fashion Week in September.

Since its genesis in 2022, the PINTU Incubator has supported more than 35 designers from both France and Indonesia. For its third year, 20 French fashion designers and professionals have taken part in extensive workshops and mentoring sessions, aiming to prepare the brands with the skills and know-how to break onto the global fashion scene, including design consultations and business management.

This year, five Indonesian labels out of more than 500 entries have been selected for JF3, which ran from July 18 to 28 at Summarecon Mall Kelapa Gading (MKG) and from July 26 to Aug. 4 at Summarecon Mall Serpong (SMS) under the theme of #20YearsContribution.

Arae, a sustainability-minded community-based social enterprise, highlighted natural dyes and biodegradable fabric choices, while Denim It Up’s HAM! Jeansku line injected a bright and eclectic touch on streetwear that went beyond traditional blues.

Bali-based Enigma Art Textile envisioned contemporary tropical chic with an Indonesian twist, utilizing 100 percent organic fibers such as cotton and silk dyed with indigo.

Tales and Wonders, which draws inspiration from stories around the world, translated Indonesian folktale imagery into illustrated prints, including banana tree-patterned dresses to wave print shirts.

With an affinity for cultural heritage, SENSES combines traditional patterns, contemporary textiles and modern silhouettes with intricate beadwork and embroidery.

In addition to the chance to participate in the trade show alongside previous PINTU Incubator alumni, the two selected labels will also receive a six-month scholarship at École Duperré Paris.
