rade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026, Indonesia’s largest international trade exhibition, opened on Oct. 14 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition in BSD City, Tangerang, Banten.

Hosted by the Trade Ministry and organized by Debindo, the exhibition runs until Oct. 18 under the theme: “The Ultimate Hub for Global Sourcing”.

Coordinating Downstream and Energy Transition Minister Bahlil Lahadalia launched TEI 2026 on behalf of President Prabowo Subianto.

In his remarks, Bahlil emphasized optimal natural resource management as a strategic step in positioning Indonesia as an advanced nation.

“The government is promoting high value-added exports through the downstream development and industrialization of natural resources. Downstreaming is key to increasing added value of Indonesia’s natural resources while strengthening national economic self-reliance,” he said.

Meanwhile, Trade Minister Budi Santoso noted strong enthusiasm for TEI 2026 among international buyers and exhibition visitors. He also announced that 168 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between Indonesian exporters and buyers from 22 countries would be signed on the exhibition’s first day.

As of opening day, buyers from 134 countries and 1,873 exhibitors had registered at this year’s TEI, which targets 30,000 visitors and US$17.5 billion in potential transactions.

Supported by Pertamina as Strategic Partner, Bank Mandiri as Bank Partner, and Badan Pengelola Dana Perkebunan (BPDP) as Event Partner, TEI 2026 showcases a wide range of Indonesia’s leading products. Highlighting various industries such as, food and beverages, agriculture, manufacturing, fashion and crafts, furniture and home décor, as well as features industrial estates to attract investor interest.

The exhibition aligns with the Trade Ministry’s three priority programs: Securing the Domestic Market, Expanding Export Markets and From Local to Global. These programs are designed to strengthen the competitiveness of local products, broaden access to international markets and encourage more Indonesian businesses to enter export markets.

“In line with the President’s directives, we continue to conduct trade negotiations with various countries and regions to open export markets. To date, 25 trade agreements have been implemented, while 13 agreements are currently under negotiation,” said Budi.

“These efforts form part of the ‘Two Years of Real Action’ national transformation agenda under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto,” he said.

Under the From Local to Global program, the Trade Ministry continues to support micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in entering export markets. A key initiative of this program is facilitating business matching between MSMEs and prospective international buyers, supported by 46 Indonesian trade attachés and representative offices in 33 countries, including the Indonesian Trade Consul in Hong Kong, the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office (KDEI) in Taipei and Indonesian Trade Promotion Centers (ITPCs), as well as the Indonesian Ambassador to the World Trade Organization (WTO).

“We are also facilitating exports through the Desa BISA Ekspor [Innovative and Adaptive Export-Ready Villages] program, which has identified numerous potential village products for development and entry into export markets,” Budi said.

“In addition, we are fostering partnerships between MSMEs and domestic retailers so that local products increasingly dominate the domestic market.”
