JKT48 fans react to Inao Jiro's passing

Indonesia Twitter users have been expressing their deep condolences on social media, following news about the passing of Inao Jiro, one of the general managers of female idol group JKT48.

“We’re truly sorry to hear about the passing of JKT48 Operation Team, Mr. Jiro Inao,” one of JKT48’s fan websites JKT48Stuff tweeted. “We'd really appreciate it if JKT48 fans don't create further speculation or accusations in regards to the circumstances surrounding his death as we can’t even begin to fathom what his family is going through right now.”

Meanwhile, Berita Harian JKT48 Twitter account said that Inao Jiro was “someone who was really important in JKT48’s career.” “[We] hope he rests in peace,” they added.

Netizens also used hashtags, such as #RIPJiroSanGMKT48, #JiroArigatou (thank you Jiro) and #terimakasihJiro on Twitter. Some also changed their Twitter profile picture with Inao Jiro's photo.

Japanese citizen Inao Jiro was found dead in his house in Pondok Aren, South Tangerang, on Tuesday, March 22. According to Tribunnews.com, the cause of his death was suicide by hanging. His family had taken him to a hospital in Bintaro, Tangerang, however, he was not able to be saved. (asw)
