Apple CEO Tim Cook’s planned visit to Indonesia comes just days before that of Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, whom the Communications and Information Ministry expects to arrive in Jakarta on April 30.
pple CEO Tim Cook is scheduled to arrive in Indonesia for a two-day visit this week, Communications and Information Minister Budi Arie Setiadi announced on Tuesday.
On his first visit to the country, Cook is expected to launch the Apple Developer Academy in Bali on Wednesday and hold a meeting with President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Thursday.
While details of the agenda for the presidential meeting remain undisclosed, Budi Arie hinted at potential investment discussions, saying, “Wait until tomorrow, there will be a surprise.”
Cook's visit will follow a two-day trip to Vietnam, where he was scheduled to meet with programmers and users of Apple products.
In a press statement cited by Al Jazeera on Monday, Apple said the trip also underscored its commitment to strengthening its supply chain connections in Vietnam.
