T Frisian Flag Indonesia (FFI), a subsidiary of Dutch dairy-based nutrition company Royal FrieslandCampina, is developing a pilot project to identify the most effective model for delivering a free school lunch and milk program, a key campaign promise of president-elect Prabowo Subianto.

FFI, in collaboration with the think tank Indonesian Food Security Review (IFSR), plans to assess various aspects of the program, including partnerships, distribution strategies and supply chains.

“[IFSR] will work with us and other industry players. The pilot project aims to find the best way to build this program,” FFI president director Berend van Wel said on Tuesday, as quoted by Tempo.co, adding that the pilot project was expected to reach 2,000 students at 10 schools in Cikarang.

The new facility is to produce 400,000 kilograms of fresh milk per day for a total annual yield of 700 million kilograms of dairy products.
