outh Korean flag carrier Korean Air will increase its direct services linking Seoul with Denpasar, Bali, from 11 times a week to twice daily starting from Oct. 20.

Korean Air will deploy its new Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner on the route between Incheon International Airport and I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport during the upcoming winter season, the SkyTeam alliance carrier said in a media statement on Tuesday.

"This September marks our 35th year of flying to Indonesia, and we're celebrating by strengthening our presence in the market,” Korean Air country manager for Indonesia, Lee Tae-seok said in the statement.

“Increasing our Bali service frequencies to two daily flights and bringing in our newest widebody aircraft show our commitment toward not only satisfying the growing demand but also staying competitive on this important route."

Lee added that the airline saw great potential in Bali's continued growth as one of the top destinations for South Korean travelers.

According to Statistics Indonesia, South Korea ranks as the fifth-largest source of international visitors to Bali. This significant influx reflects Bali's strong appeal to South Korean travelers.

Bali's unique blend of centuries-old cultural traditions and world-class leisure facilities attracts a diverse range of visitors, from cultural enthusiasts to vacationing families.

The enhanced Seoul Incheon-Denpasar service will offer travelers greater flexibility and convenience, strengthening connectivity between South Korea and Indonesia's top tourist destination, the airline said, aiming to cater to both leisure and business travelers with a seamless, full-service travel experience.

Korean Air’s 787-10 features 289 economy-class and 36 Prestige Class (business-class) seats.

The 787-10 Dreamliner is the first aircraft to have Korean Air’s new business-class product. The Prestige Suites 2.0 offers lie-flat seats with a generous 117 centimeters of pitch and 53 cm of width.

The 1-2-1 seat configuration provides easy aisle access for all Prestige-Class passengers.

Passengers can enjoy large 60 cm personal 4K monitors to keep them entertained throughout their journey.

Economy-class passengers will also enjoy a superior travel experience in a nine-abreast seat configuration with a pitch of 81 cm and width of 44 cm. The economy seats come with a 33-cm high-definition personal monitor.

The nine-abreast seat configuration offers a wider seat in Economy class while many airlines opt for a 10-abreast seat configuration in their Boeing 787 aircraft to maximize load factor.

Korean Air maintains a strong presence in Indonesia with daily flights between Incheon International Airport and Soekarno-Hatta International Airport using its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. (nvn)
