anpower Minister Yassierli has revealed that the government will issue a circular on the provision of holiday bonuses for ride-hailing transportation drivers, to be announced alongside the annual regulation on holiday allowances for formal workers.
“We will announce it later, the bonus together with the holiday allowance and so on,” Yassierli said during a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday, as quoted by Antara.
The minister added that his office was currently in active communication with online transportation apps operating in Indonesia, like Gojek and Grab, to finalize the policy.
“Thank God, their response has been positive. They are committed [to providing the holiday bonus],” he said.
On the regulatory process, the ministry is closely coordinating with the State Secretariat to determine how the policy will be formalized through a ministerial circular and how to launch it to the public.
“We are still awaiting coordination with the State Secretariat, and we will announce it together,” he said.
The holiday bonus for ride-hailing drivers, known as bonus hari raya (BHR), was first introduced through a Manpower Ministry circular issued in March last year.
