alaysia-based luxury senior living and geriatric care provider Hemrish Group plans to establish a 50-villa luxury longevity and retirement estate, Sukha Soleil, in Pantai Indah Lagoi on Bintan Island, Riau Islands.
The cooperation was struck through an agreement between Hemrish Group’s Indonesian subsidiary PT Sukha Swarna Mahkota and PT Taman Indah, which manages Pantai Indah Lagoi on Aug. 28, the luxury senior living provider said in a press release issued on Thursday.
The agreement was signed by Hemrish Group chairman and Sukha Swarna Mahkota president N. Raaj Selvarajan and Taman Indah general manager Yudistira Paul Reza Sakul.
“Retirement today is very different from what it was a generation ago. People are living longer, remaining active longer and expecting more from those additional years,” Selvarajan said, as quoted by the release.
“Sukha Soleil is not about retiring from life. It is about having greater freedom to enjoy it.”
Selvarajan said Bintan gave the opportunity to combine private resort living with hospitality, longevity and access to health care in a way that was difficult to replicate in a conventional urban retirement development.
Meanwhile, Yudistira said that there would be no better partner than Sukha to bring the vision to life.
“Sukha’s proven experience in senior living and understanding of the expectations of today’s senior community give us great confidence in what Sukha Soleil can bring to Bintan Island,” he said.
The signing marks Hemrish Group's expansion of its senior-living and longevity platform into Indonesia, bringing together the group's operating experience and turnkey senior-living consultancy expertise with Bintan's established luxury resort ecosystem.
Operations are targeted to commence in December, with the first phase comprising 10 private villas. Half of the initial villas have already been privately booked ahead of the official opening, providing strong early validation for the concept.
Each villa will offer about 158 square meters of private living space, which includes a bedroom, dining area, kitchenette and private swimming pool.
Residents will also be supported by a dedicated Personal Lifestyle Manager and concierge team, coordinating dining, transportation, golf, travel, healthcare appointments and personal arrangements.
The wider estate will include all-day dining, spa and wellness facilities, private function spaces and access to Bintan’s established golf, marina and lifestyle ecosystem.
Sukha Soleil is also being designed with access to specialist longevity programs, healthcare support, leading medical care in Singapore and planned emergency medical transfer capabilities.
For Hemrish Group, Bintan offers a distinctive opportunity: the space, privacy and natural environment of an island destination while remaining closely connected to Singapore, one of Asia's leading healthcare and international transportation hubs.
The project is being positioned for an international resident community, with potential markets including Australia, China, Europe, Korea, the Middle East, Singapore and the United States in addition to Indonesia.
Behind the development is Hemrish Group's broader experience in senior living and healthcare development, operations and consultancy.
Hemrish believes Southeast Asia's senior-living industry should not simply replicate models developed in Western markets. Family relationships, food, culture, hospitality, affordability and expectations around aging differ significantly across Asian markets.
Sukha Soleil is the Indonesian expression of that strategy, combining Bintan's resort environment with an international luxury retirement and longevity proposition.
