Indonesia's best designers share their 2022’s fashion trend predictions.
COVID-19 has wreaked havoc across the entire world, changing the way people live, work and dress.
With people being told to stay at home as much as they can, for most of 2020 and 2021, comfy loungewear, pajamas and fluffy slippers have been all the rage, for both WFH activities and quick trips to the malls.
But let us not get too comfortable. Fashion trends are changing as we speak.
“Now, people want to celebrate,” Ali Charisma, chairman of the Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC), said. “Although the pandemic is not really over, people are getting tired of the restrictions. They want to go out and live life again.”
Even the Omicron variant cannot contain people’s euphoria and blossoming joie de vivre.
“People are becoming more confident [in facing the Coronavirus],” Ali continued. “Many believe that the impact of the [Omicron] variant will not be so terrible, as most are already vaccinated.”
