eteran actors Ringgo Agus Rahman and Nirina Zubir, when combined, have already accumulated 36 years of experience in the Indonesian film industry. Even so, the two acknowledged that they have not often seen a couple of ordinary fortysomethings finding love on the silver screen — that is, until film director-cum-writer Yandy Laurens asked them to lead his latest romantic dramedy, Jatuh Cinta Seperti di Film-Film (Falling in Love Like in Movies, or FILLIM).

Working on FILLIM, as it turns out, was more than career rejuvenation for the two – it turned into a profound evolution.

"This is not like an actor simply being given a script and asked to perform," Ringgo, who turned 41 in August, asserted.

"Because I have been involved since the very beginning, I feel a sense of ownership with this project. This is not your usual acting gig. There's no need to prove myself or make any sideshow. If anything, this is me trying to prove to myself that I can do more than I would usually do."

Once the box office darling of the Y2K era with movies like 2006's Heart and 2007's Get Married, FILLIM marks a new career renaissance for Nirina. She made it clear that the best is yet to come.

"I have led a life filled with so many twists and turns," the 43-year-old actress elaborated.

"I have been broken, crushed, hurt, and then I got back up again — however you wish to translate it. That's why, now, this sort of opportunity is incredibly exciting."
