Indonesia OMEGA Trophy makes its 2024 return

I

ndonesian golfers and enthusiasts from across the archipelago convened for the return of the Indonesia OMEGA Trophy on May 25, arguably the most anticipated invitational amateur golf tournament by Swiss watchmaker OMEGA.

The OMEGA Trophy, held in several Asian markets including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and India, allows OMEGA customers, watch and golfing enthusiasts to challenge themselves. The Indonesia OMEGA Trophy itself is a collaborative effort between OMEGA SA and PT Hourlogy Inti Semesta, the brand's distributor in Indonesia, and OB Golf, the organizer of the Asian Tour flagship event, the Indonesian Masters.

For its third edition this year, the 2024 Indonesia OMEGA Trophy was held at the prestigious Pondok Indah Golf Course Jakarta, home of the best golf tournaments in the country, including the Asian Games and World Cup.

.

Successful tournaments from previous years have built tremendous enthusiasm from participants. This year’s tournament saw a significant increase in the number of participants, with a total 144 people for 36-flight, or the maximum number for the tournament. Beyond the participants, the long list of names include the hundreds who put their names in the long waiting list to join.

The 2024 Indonesia OMEGA Trophy kicked off with a traditional Indonesian fanfare performance followed by a ceremonial tee-off led by President Director of PT Hourlogy Inti Semesta Renaldi Hutasoit, who was joined by Indonesian golfers Jonathan Wijono and Inesh Putri.

On the day of the tournament, it had been raining since early morning, though the weather conditions did not discourage the participants and instead elevated the quality of the game throughout the whole tournament.

Ranging from OMEGA customers to golf enthusiasts, every participant was excited to finish the 18-hole course and to win exclusive prizes from OMEGA for Best Net Overall, Best Gross Overall, Best Customer Boutique and Best Net Ladies Winner categories.

Commenting on the tournament, Renaldi Hutasoit said that in the coming years, he hoped the prestigious amateur tournament could become more competitive and just as regulated as the best international tournaments.

“We also hope for the opportunity to send the winner of Indonesia OMEGA Trophy to a tournament competing with OMEGA Trophy winners from other countries.”

OMEGA’s involvement in the golfing world is notable for its continuous presence over the years, as the luxury watchmaker has been a long-time partner for various world-class golf championships such as the OMEGA Dubai Desert Classic and OMEGA European Masters in Crans Montana. OMEGA sponsors some of the most dominant professional golfers, such as the former world number one Rory McIlroy.
