ife insurance company Sinarmas MSIG Life has officially opened its newest independent agency office (AKM), named New Prosper, in Batam, the Riau Islands. The inauguration of this agency office, which is located in Ruko Town House Anggrek Sari, Blok G1/16, Batam, is a realization of the company’s commitment to increasing the ease of access to life insurance services through agency distribution.

The inauguration was celebrated with a balloon release and ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was attended by Wianto Chen, president director of Sinarmas MSIG Life, alongside Herman Sulistyo, director of Sinarmas MSIG Life, Ferry Tjong, agency business head, and the New Prosper Batam agency team.

During the inauguration, Wianto said “Batam is the center of economic development in the Riau Islands area, with a growth rate of 6.84 percent in 2022, which is notably higher than the national growth rate of 5.31 percent. This is supported by the region’s developed insurance market and a productive demographic that consists of millenials and Gen Z-ers, who make up over 57.56 percent of the population. Sinarmas MSIG Life arrives in Batam through the New Prosper agency, where we will provide financial protection solutions that are comprehensive, innovative and which provide value for our customers, making it a premier choice for Batam and Riau Islands residents.”

.

Based on the Indonesian Financial Services Authority’s national financial literacy and inclusion survey of 2022, the Riau Islands has a financial inclusion index that is quite high of 87.01 percent, above the national average, while the financial literacy index is at 48.57 percent, which is below the national average of 49.68 percent. Because of this, the expansion of insurance agencies is an important priority, for they are the informational and educational centers regarding life insurance products.

“Businesses are now committed to pushing the increase in financial literacy and inclusion, especially life insurance companies. We hope that by opening this agency office, we can more easily serve the people of Batam. We have a range of products and services that are innovative, whether they be conventional services or syariah services, so everyone in Batam has an option that best fits themselves,” said Herman.
