rom June 15-18, Surabaya, East Java, will host an international-scale food and beverage exhibition called the Indonesia International Food Exhibition 2023 (IIFEX 2023). The exhibition will feature various businesses from the food industry, totaling around 250 participating companies, and will facilitate the participation of 30 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). IIFEX 2023 will be held simultaneously with the Indonesia Licensing Expo 2023, which showcases licenses, franchises, partnerships and business opportunities in Indonesia, as well as the EastPack Surabaya 2023, an international exhibition in the field of food technology, pharmaceuticals and packaging.
During last Friday’s press conference, Daud D Salim, the CEO of PT. Kristamedia Pratama, stated exhibitors at the International Exhibition IIFEX 2023 would feature offerings from seven other countries, namely Malaysia, Korea, China, Japan, Singapore, Italy and Taiwan. Similarly, visitors from all around the world are invited to attend the exhibition. In 2022, the IIFEX exhibition attracted around 16,000 visitors from six countries: Malaysia, Singapore, India, the United States, Pakistan and Nigeria.
Furthermore, he added, “with this exhibition, a great opportunity is provided for the food, licensing, franchise and packaging industries in Indonesia to expand their markets and establish new business partnerships, both locally and internationally".
Iwan Winardi, the vice chairman of Foreign Cooperation at the Indonesian Food and Beverage Producers Association (GAPMMI), stated, "At the IIFEX 2023 Exhibition, GAPMMI will participate in a seminar themed Empowering MSMEs in Processed Food Innovation & Creation with the Experts. With this event, we hope that MSMEs will be inspired to begin processing food and beverages utilizing local raw materials".
Wahyu Prihantono, the chairman of the UMKM Berbagi Bersama Berkembang (BBB) Indonesia Community, revealed, "Our members have participated in several international exhibitions organized by Krista Exhibitions. After participating in these international exhibitions, the market for these MSMEs became wider, and some of them have even been able to export."
Roy N. Mandey, the chairman of the Indonesian Retailers Association (APRINDO), said, "Congratulations to Krista Exhibitions for consistently organizing this international exhibition, the Indonesia International Food Exhibition. APRINDO hopes this exhibition can provide information and opportunities for entrepreneurs in obtaining raw materials and processed ingredients, as well as open up opportunities in marketing their products, especially for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises. APRINDO highly encourages active participation from its members in this exhibition," said Roy N. Mandey.
Susanty Widjaya, the chairwoman of the Indonesian Licensing Association (ASENSI), stated in her speech at the press conference, "ASENSI, together with IMEI and KRISTA Exhibitions, with the tagline of 'Let's RISE UP together, Together We RISE UP!', will serve as an organization that accommodates Indonesian entrepreneurs, particularly in the licensing field, which includes partnerships, franchises and local MSMEs. We are optimistic about participating in the major series of exhibitions held by Krista Exhibitions, which includes the 3rd Indonesia Licensing Expo [ILE], that will also be held in September.”
