T Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) has been honored at the Alpha Southeast Asia 17th Annual Best Deal & Solution Awards 2023. At the event, PNM was named Best Local Currency Sukuk of the Year in Indonesia.
The award was received by PNM's director of operations, digital, and information technology, Sunar Basuki.
"Throughout 2023, we [PNM] distributed Mudharabah Sukuk worth US$111.7 million, equivalent to Rp 1.721 trillion," Sunar revealed on Feb. 6 at the event held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Jakarta.
Sunar emphasized that this achievement was a manifestation of the company's commitment to optimizing business performance while offering investment products to the wider community.
"The public's role in supporting the growth of the quality of our ultra-micro customers' businesses includes participating in purchasing the financial instruments we offer," he added.
As a non-bank financial institution, PNM continues to provide financing and assistance to underprivileged women entrepreneurs operating household-scale or ultra-micro businesses.
Closing his statement, Sunar explained that the issuance of Mudharabah Sukuk was one of the company's strategies to obtain relatively inexpensive funding to be distributed to customers.
