T

hroughout 2023, PT Pertamina (Persero) contributed roughly Rp 425.5 trillion (US$25.9 billion) to state revenue. This contribution came from tax payments and dividends. As a state-owned enterprise (SOE), Pertamina is committed to driving the national economy, and complying with tax payments is one of its key practices.

"Our contribution to fiscal revenue aligns with Pertamina's strong business growth. We believe that Pertamina's commitment to responsible business practices, including compliance with tax regulations, reflects Pertamina's capability in sound financial management and good corporate governance," explained Pertamina Corporate Communication VP Fadjar Djoko Santoso.

The state revenue contribution from Pertamina consists of tax payments amounting to Rp 224.53 trillion, including income taxes (PPh), prepaid taxes, value-added taxes (VAT) on company output, customs or import duties and local taxes.

In addition to taxes, other revenue includes non-tax state revenue (PNBP) – which amounted to Rp66.17 trillion – dividends and signature bonuses, which amounted to Rp14.03 trillion.

Another form of contribution provided by Pertamina was state shares of crude oil and condensate, commonly referred to as MMKBN, which amounted to Rp120.79 trillion in 2023.

Meanwhile, in addition to tax compliance, Pertamina also contributes to the implementation of the local content requirement (TKDN) program. Throughout 2023, the Pertamina Group’s local content use reached a total value of Rp374 trillion, or 47 percent of the total local content use of all Indonesian SOEs. Pertamina's commitment to local content use aims to promote the growth of the domestic industry.

"With Pertamina's contribution to the state and industry, it is hoped that it can support a positive multiplier effect for the community, drive industry within the country and boost the national economy," Fadjar concluded.
