The former West Java governor claims that Riza's appointment as the head of his campaign team, which will be announced in the coming days, is because of his experience as Jakarta deputy governor.
akarta gubernatorial nominee Ridwan Kamil has claimed that Gerindra Party executive Ahmad Riza Patria will lead his campaign team in the upcoming election.
“Just wait for the official announcement of the campaign team, which will be filled with around 70 percent of young people,” Ridwan said in Jakarta on Friday, as quoted by kompas.com.
He added that the announcement would take place in the next several days.
Another name Ridwan mentioned as being a member of his campaign team was Angkie Yudistia, a social entrepreneur with a disability once assigned as an expert staffer to President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo. The gubernatorial hopeful went with Angkie to a discussion with people with disabilities on Friday in Jakarta.
Ridwan and officials of the political parties backing him had previously hinted at Riza leading the campaign team.
The former West Java governor said that Riza, who once served as deputy to previous governor Anies Baswedan between 2020 and 2022, understands “Jakarta’s geographic, demographic and political situation.”
