H

ouse of Representatives Commission II will hold a meeting with Administrative and Bureaucratic Reforms Minister Rini Widyantini to discuss concerns over the controversial flexible work policy for civil servants

Commission II deputy chairman Aria Bima said the meeting aimed to inquire as to the reasons for implementing flexible work for civil servants, as well as its effectiveness and impact on public service.

“We will invite the administrative and bureaucratic reform minister during the current sitting session to explain the reasoning behind the ministerial regulation on remote work for civil servants,” Aria said on Tuesday at the House compound, as reported by Kompas.com.

“Is this flexible arrangement effective? Does it disrupt public services? Does it hinder coordination between government agencies? And is there proper supervision of their performance?”

Aria said the flexible working policy could be seen as a breakthrough in the context of ongoing digital developments.

However, the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) politician stressed that its implementation must be evaluated objectively, as the quality of public services and overall governance performance are at stake in adopting an effective remote work system.
