everal victims of the recent flash floods and landslides in Aceh moved on Thursday out of evacuation tents and into temporary housing built by state asset fund Danantara.
One of the victims, Bambang Eriyetno from Sukajadi village said he was very happy to move into the temporary housing in Kebun Tanjung Seumantoh village, Karang Baru district, Aceh Tamiang regency.
He said the temporary housing was more suitable to live in with his wife and two children after living in an evacuation tent for more than a month.
“We are very happy to live in the temporary housing. It is quite comfortable when compared with the evacuation tent, which was dirty and crowded,” he told The Jakarta Post on Thursday.
“By living in temporary housing, I can resume my work as a fishmonger in the market with ease.”
Bambang said he hoped to get a permanent house after his home was destroyed by a flash flood.
Another victim, Nur’aini from Sukajadi village, was also thankful for the temporary housing, in which she now resides with three of her grandchildren.
