he Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force have arrested two people suspected of being arsonists in Yahukimo regency, Papua Highlands, after initial reports saying that the task force had arrested four people suspected to be involved in the shooting of an aircraft.
“The four people are related to an arson case in Yahukimo,” task force spokesman Sr. Comr. Yusuf Sutejo said on Monday, as quoted by kompas.com.
Yusuf identified two of the suspects as GW and AH. They were arrested in Dekai, the administrative seat of Yahukimo regency.
“From our investigation, GW is involved in the shootings of a Brimob [Mobil Brigade] operative on Nov. 30, 2022, and a truck driver on Jan. 30, 2026,” he said.
“Meanwhile, AH is the arsonist of a school building.

He said that the two other suspects were still being investigated while GW and AH had been confirmed as members of the Sisibia armed criminal group.
