Human rights and religious groups have renewed calls for the cessation of military operations in Papua following fresh clashes between security forces and separatist groups in Central Papua’s Intan Jaya regency earlier this week.

Villagers said the TNI had been disposing of expired ammunition near their village for more than 30 years, with the military hiring around 20 residents for each disposal operation.
