P

okemon Go is now available for download in Hong Kong - three days after the wildly popular mobile game made its Asia debut in Japan.

The game's maker, Niantic Labs, announced the Hong Kong launch on Facebook and Twitter at around noon on Monday (July 25).

"Put on your shoes, step outside, and explore the world with Pokemon Go," the posts added.

The Pokemon Go craze has swept the world since its initial launch in Australia, New Zealand and the United States on July 6.

Britain, Italy, Spain and Portugal were subsequently added to the list, while Niantic Labs said on July 16 that Pokemon Go was available in 26 new countries in Europe.

Since then, the game has also become playable in Canada and France. It was launched in Japan - where Pokemon first started - last Friday (July 22).

There has been no update on its Singapore debut.

The free location-based game, which uses augmented reality, requires players - dubbed Pokemon trainers - to take to the streets to capture and train the creatures.
