ezia Warouw from Indonesia was among the top 13 contestants at the 65th Miss Universe beauty pageant held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, the Philippines, on Monday.
Kezia, who represented Indonesia after being crowned Puteri Indonesia 2016, graced the stage alongside representatives from Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Haiti, Kenya, Mexico, Panama, Peru, the Philippines, Thailand and the United States.
People flocked to the internet to praise Kezia for her achievement. One congratulatory statement came from official Instagram account of Puteri Indonesia: "You’ve made us proud. Being in the top 13 is already the greatest [achievement]."

Ivan Gunawan, who is one of the designers who dressed Kexia for the event, also applauded her following the announcement. Ivan had reportedly prepared six gowns for the Indonesian contestant, including a tenun (woven fabric) dress from Toraja, South Sulawesi.
During the show, Kezia also wore a handmade Garuda costume created by East Java-based designer Dynand Fariz.

French dental student Iris Mittenaere was crowned Miss Universe 2016. Meanwhile, Miss Haiti Raquel Pelissier and Miss Colombia Andrea Tovar were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. (kes)
