inger Andien reminisced about past performances at the 13th Java Jazz Festival (JJF) at JIExpo in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Friday night.

“I first took to the stage at JJF in 2005. At the time, I was not married and was still together with my ex-boyfriend. Now I already have a child,” she said.

The singer performed songs from her first album My Funny Valentine on Friday. “I was called a smart aleck when I was 14 years old. They only started to appreciate my music a couple of years later,” she told news agency Antara.

Andien reportedly also sang several songs from her second, third and fourth albums, such as "Tentang Aku" (About Me) and "Sahabat Setia" (A Loyal Friend) from the album Kinanti, as well as "Detik Tak Bertepi" (Seconds without Ending), a song by her late mentor Elfa Secioria.

The singer, who just gave birth to a boy named Anaku Askara Biru surprised the audience that night when she collaborated with singer Tulus on stage. She was singing "Gemintang(Constellations) when Tulus suddenly entered the stage, igniting cheer from festival-goers.

“I have been following Andien’s work for a long time. To me, one of her most impressive songs is 'Gemintang’ because it has complicated lyrics, yet it is beautiful,” he said, as quoted by kompas.com. (mas/kes)
