Local Muslim fashion brand Sabila Syar’i Fash, by designer Tiara Syafruddin, made its debut at Modanisa London Modest Fashion Week at the Olympia exhibition center in London, United Kingdom, last weekend.
Antara news agency reported that during the two-day event, the brand showcased two collections, featuring glamorous Muslim wear and syar'i (sharia-approved attires) casual daily outfits.
The collection, themed "Tropical Bali", received a positive response from the Muslim community in London.
Tiara, the brand’s fashion designer, said she was surprised to see the positive response, with the syar’i outfits setting the brand apart from its competitors in the Muslim fashion industry.
“Thank God, I feel happy to be able to join the exhibition for the very first time in London,” she said.
“[The Muslim community's] enthusiasm towards [Indonesian] Muslim fashion was amazing,” said Tiara, adding that her goal of participating in the event was to introduce the brand. (jes/asw)
