HBO Asia announced on Tuesday that HBO Original production Game of Thrones season 7 in Thailand will be dubbed by local celebrities.

The local talent set to voice the six main characters are actor Mario Maurer (as Jon Snow), actress and singer Nantida Kaewbuasai (as Cersei Lannister), actress Namthip Jongrachatawiboon (as Daenerys Targaryen), singer and actor Preeti Barameeanant (as Tyrion Lannister), actress and model Ploychompoo Jannine Weigel (as Arya Stark) and actress Pleng Chontida Asavahame (as Sansa Stark).

HBO Asia CEO Jonathan Spink said in a press release, “For the very first time in Asia, our hit HBO Original series, ‘Game of Thrones’, will be dubbed in a local language by local celebrities.”

The much-anticipated series is scheduled to premiere on July 17. Viewers in Thailand will be able to choose to watch the series in English or the Thai-dubbed version during the same-day prime-time encore at 8 p.m. via AIS Play and AIS Playbox.

Meanwhile, in Indonesia, the series is slated to premiere on the same day. (kes)
