hirty-six designers are set to participate in the Solo Batik Fashion (SBF) event at an indoor stage at Solo Paragon Mall in Surakarta, Central Java, slated for three days starting Friday, showcasing 104 archipelago-themed designs.
Similar to a previous event, all of the designs will reportedly utilize batik tulis (hand-painted batik) and batik cap (stamped batik).

"[All the designs will feature] batik tulis and batik cap. There will be no printed batik since it's not actual batik; only textile adorned with batik motifs," the event's committee member, Jongko Raharjo, told The Jakarta Post on Thursday.
In addition to Surakartan designers, the event is said to be participated by designers from outside the city, such as Yogyakarta, Semarang, Jakarta and Surabaya. (kes)
