horror attraction based on Joko Anwar’s film Pengabdi Setan (Satan’s Slave) will take pride of place at Popcon Asia 2018, which will be held at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD in South Tangerang from Sept. 22 to 23.
The attraction is divided into two short stories of 10 minutes each. In the first story, Kelam Malam (Dark Night), visitors will play the role of Rini, one of the film’s main characters portrayed by Tara Basro, inside the house. Kelam Malam is also the title of the film’s soundtrack that was written by Joko. In the second story, Penghuni Gelap (Dark Resident), visitors will challenge a demon.

Ticket prices for the attraction start at Rp 30,000 (US$2) per story and it is separate from Popcon Asia’s entrance fee, which is Rp 95,000 for a one day pass.
The attraction is a collaboration between Pandora Experience, Popcon Asia and Rapi Film. Operating in five provinces in Indonesia, Pandora Experience is known for providing terrifying and challenging escape rooms for those who love solving riddles.
Pengabdi Setan, which premiered last year, is a remake of a 1980 film by Sisworo Gautama Putra. It follows a family who experience strange incidents after their mother’s death. (wir/kes)
