G

lobal artist CL unveiled her new track “Dopeness”, a collaboration with the Black Eyed Peas, Friday in the United States.

CL participated in the new track produced by the band’s Will.i.am along with Taboo and Apl.de.ap participating.

“Dopeness” is on the Black Eyed Peas’ latest album, Master of the Sun, as the sixth track. Not only singing the main part, CL does a rap solo that displays her English chops, blending in well with the band.

This is not the first time the artists have met to collaborate. CL and Will.i.am performed together at the Mnet Asian Music Awards in 2011, and CL participated in Will.i.am’s solo track “Getting’ Dumb” in 2013 and they collaborated together in Japan in 2017.

CL, formerly of since-disbanded girl group 2NE1, has been spotlighted in diverse foreign media, including music chart publisher Billboard and UK newspaper the Guardian, especially for 2015’s “Hello B*tches”.

Since then, the singer has kept up her high profile by ranking on the Billboard’s Hot 100 chart with the single “Lifted,” released in August 2016, and being selected as “New Artist of the Week” by Apple Music in the same year.
