2Madison Avenue will bring 12 outfits to New York Fashion Week 2019.
Artisan fashion brand 2Madison Avenue is set to take part in 2019 New York Fashion Week slated to be held in February.
Maggie Hutauruk Eddy, the brand's designer and creative director, said she would showcase collections that incorporated Indonesian tenun (handwoven fabric) and art.
“[We will showcase] 12 outfits that merge tenun and artistic elements,” Maggie told Antara. “[They’re] easy to wear using materials such as ulos [traditional Batak textiles], Bima batik, Japanese cotton and brocade.”

Tenun’s patterns are mainly colored in black and red, but Maggie dares to combine them with brocade.
She is hopeful her designs could inspire people to love and create more collaborations using Indonesian products.
2Madison Avenue released its latest collection, Fabulous1819, in Jakarta on Nov. 30. It comprises 23 collections in which Maggie applied paintings of the late American actress Marilyn Monroe in several outfits. (wir/kes)
