ndonesian comedy film Cek Toko Sebelah (Check the Store Next Door) is slated to be adapted into a web series on streaming service HOOQ.
The 12-episode series is titled Cek Toko Sebelah The Series. The film’s director Ernest Prakasa will helm the project alongside two other directors, Arie Kriting and Benedion.
“Each of us will direct four episodes, with me as the lead,” Ernest said as quoted by Antara.
The series will tell the story of Erwin, the film’s main character, who seeks to modernize his father’s shop. Ernest also revealed that the series would not be the continuation of the film’s story.

“It will focus on the one-month period when Erwin takes a break, as shown in the film,” Ernest explained.
The cast includes Ernest Prakasa, Chew Kin Wah, Dodit Mulyanto, Awwe, Adjis Doaibu, Arafah, Dion Wiyoko, Gisella Anastasia and Adinia Wirasti.
Cek Toko Sebelah The Series will be available on HOOQ starting Dec. 19. (iru/kes)
