Nawangsih is the result of collaboration between Telkomsel and pay-TV provider Astro. Agnes Rozario, Astro’s director of content, said they were committed to releasing more content of a similar type with the same partner.

“We aim to repeat the success of our previous Indonesian productions, Gantung [Hang] and Dosa [Sin],” Rozario said in an official statement. “We’ve compiled intellectual property content that with a potential for development in other genres and formats, from series to short digital shows.”

MAXstream introduced its first original series in 2018, crime thriller Brata, featuring Oka Antara and Laura Basuki. The series has been watched by more than 1 million viewers since its premiere in September.

MAXstream can be downloaded on Google Play and Apple Store. (wir/wng)
