ady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, the stars of the acclaimed musical drama “A Star Is Born,” had so much chemistry onstage during their duet on “Shallow” at the recent Oscars ceremony that people on social media started speculating that there must be something more between the two.

“First of all, social media, quite frankly, is the toilet of the internet. And what it has done to pop culture is abysmal,” Gaga said in an interview in “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Bradley is currently in a relationship with Russian model Irina Shayk. Gaga, on the other hand, recently called off her engagement with fiancé, Christian Carino.

The pop star stressed that the ballad “Shallow”—for which she won an Oscar award for best original song—is a love song. And so, it only made sense, she added, that she and Bradley exude love while they perform onstage.

“That’s what we wanted you to see. It’s a love song. And the movie ‘A Star Is Born’ is a love story,” Gaga said. “We worked so hard and worked all week on that performance.”

“From a performance perspective, it was important for us that we were connected the entire time,” the singer-songwriter pointed out. “Look, I had my arms wrapped around Tony Bennett for three years touring the world. When you’re singing love songs, that’s what you want people to feel.”
