Hodgepodge Superfest has announced that Prophets of Rage, Snow Patrol, Barasuara, Danilla, GAC, Phony Ppl and The Japanese House will feature in this year’s lineup

Hodgepodge Superfest is set to return on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 at Allianz Ecopark Ancol, Jakarta.

On Wednesday, the music festival announced that Prophets of Rage, Snow Patrol, Barasuara, Danilla, GAC, Phony Ppl and The Japanese House would feature in this year’s lineup.

More artists are set to be announced in the near future.

American rap rock group Prophets of Rage consists of three members from Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave (Tim Commerford, Tom Morello and Brad Wilk), two members from Public Enemy (DJ Lord and Chuck D) as well as B-Real of Cypress Hill.

The group was formed in 2016 and released its first single the same year. On September 2017, the group released a full studio album of original material. Its latest single, “Heart Afire”, was released in July last year.

Irish band Snow Patrol rose to international fame in the mid-2000s, thanks to the hit “Chasing Cars” that became its biggest-selling single. Founded in 1994, the band has released seven albums.

Indonesian band Barasuara released its highly anticipated second album earlier this month, after its successful debut album in 2015.

Indonesian singer Danilla is known for her husky voice and her penchant for exploring dark themes through pop and jazz music, while trio GAC is renowned for its spirited performances and fascinating mesh of vocals.

Eclectic American group Phony Ppl, which is comprised of five members, has performed with Erykah Badu, Fetty Wap and The Roots.

English indie pop act The Japanese House released her first single in 2015, while her first studio album was released earlier this month.

Tickets for the festival are available for Rp 650.000 (US$45.76) for a two-day pass, while a daily pass costs Rp 400.000.

Hodgepodge Superfest is presented by Java Festival Production in collaboration with SuperMusic.id.

The festival was first held on Sept. 1 and 2, 2018, with a lineup that included The Libertines, Barefood, All Time Low, Lil Yachty, Cloud Nothings, The Brandals and The SIGIT. (wng)
