Featuring 10 men’s and five women’s watches, the collection displays the manufacturer’s latest technical innovations.
uxury Swiss watchmaker Patek Philippe has unveiled 15 designs at Baselworld 2019, an international watch and jewelry trade show in Basel, Switzerland.
Featuring 10 men’s and five women’s watches, the collection displays the manufacturer’s latest technical innovations, such as the 5520P Alarm Travel Time and the 5212 Calatrava Weekly Calendar.
The former is said to combine the “Travel Time” system with a 24-hour alarm mechanism, complete with a hammer that sounds on a classic gong.
According to Patek Philippe’s website, the watchmaker needed to walk the extra mile to add the new feature, including developing an entirely new integrated movement and registering four patents for the alarm in the process.

As for the 5212 Calatrava Weekly Calendar, the design includes a calendar watch segment that displays the current week number, in addition to the day and date.
Meanwhile, the women’s collection comes with new features. The Ladies Automatic Nautilus, for example, is now available in a slightly larger diameter of 35.2 mm instead of 33.6 mm, providing the wearer extra comfort.
Moreover, the design also includes new dial colors, namely blue opaline, silvery opaline and gray opaline. (jes/kes)
