Election day is just around the corner. If you’re an eligible voter, don’t forget to cast your vote at the nearest polling station.
After casting your vote, you may want to check special election-themed discounts while waiting for the quick count results on The Jakarta Post’s website or social media accounts.
The “tradition” first appeared during Indonesia’s legislative election on April 9, 2014, when some establishments offered special discounts for voters. The discounts, obviously, caught attention and it became more popular during the 2014 presidential election.
As for the upcoming election, the Post has spotted some interesting deals for April 17. Curious? Below is a list of election-themed discounts.
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts
Doughnut lovers may want to drop by Krispy Kreme outlets on April 17.
By showing their inked fingers, voters are entitled to get six mix classic doughnuts for free for every purchase of six assorted doughnuts.
The promotion is valid in all Krispy Kreme outlets.
J.Co Indonesia is having a special promotion on April 17.
Voters can get two JCoffee for only Rp 25,000 (US$1.77). To get the deal, customers will need to show their inked fingers at the cashier.

On April 17, Indonesian restaurant Bebek Bengil is offering a special price of Rp 170,000 for two portions of their popular crispy duck on election day.
The promotion is valid at all Bebek Bengil outlets in Jakarta.
Taman Impian Jaya Ancol
You may want to schedule a visit to Taman Impian Jaya Ancol (Ancol Dreamland Park) in North Jakarta on April 17.
During election day, the entrance ticket to Dunia Fantasi Ancol is priced at Rp 170,000 per person instead of Rp 295,000. Similar to other election-themed deals, visitors will need to show their inked fingers at the cashier.
Moreover, Sea World Ancol will be hosting a special performance from April 13 to 17. Visitors to the park will be able to see a flag movement performance at the site’s giant aquarium where five divers will unfold a peaceful election banner.
Taman Safari Indonesia
Taman Safari Indonesia in Cisarua, West Java, is holding a special promotion for entrance tickets on April 17.
Priced at Rp 170,000 per person, adult visitors can get access to Safari Journey, rides, Panda Castle and nine shows.
To get the deal, visitors will need to follow Taman Safari Indonesia’s Instagram, show the promotional flyer and their inked fingers at the cashier. (kes)
