The iconic singer announced on Sunday the release of her forthcoming album in a cinematic teaser video.
The visual -- created by Nuno Xico and longtime collaborator Steven Klein -- features snippets of new music. Explaining the concept behind her new project, Madonna says in voiceover: "Madame X is a secret agent. Traveling around the world. Changing identities. Fighting for freedom. Bringing light to dark places .... The spy in the house of love. I'm Madame X."

Last year, she told Vogue Italia about the inspiration behind the record: "I've just met lots of really amazing musicians, and I've ended up working with a lot of these musicians on my new record, so Lisbon has influenced my music and my work."
Madonna previously teased new music at the 2018 Met Gala, during which she also sang her 1989 single "Like a Prayer." She will likely debut more material in May, during her much-awaited performance at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.
