The first Annual Bali Tattoo Expo was held in 2016, initially as a sharing space for tattoo artists from Bali. Following growth in the industry, the expo turned into a promotion tool for tattoo studios from around the world.

The event is to also showcase tattoo shows, contests, music performances and culinary delights, as well as exhibitions from tattoo communities and clothing brands. A children's playground is to be provided for visitors bringing their offspring to the event.

Tattoo artist Putu Agus Eka Prasantika, aka Kink, said that he was excited about participating in the event.
