The launch and auction of Handep’s new, exclusive designs will also debut at the event.
Founded in 2018 by Randi Miranda, who is a Dayak himself and was educated in Australia and America, Handep aims to support indigenous women and farmers through ecofashion weaving products. It currently partners with around 100 weavers across Central Kalimantan and seeks to expand its reach to other provinces in Kalimantan and beyond.
Most of its ecofashion products, which include handcrafted bags, hats and baskets made of rattan adorned in traditional Dayak weaving patterns, are currently sold in Bali and other regions. (nic/kes)
