Telkomsel introduces family-friendly data packages

ellular operator Telkomsel, a subsidiary of state-owned communications company PT Telkom Indonesia, introduced a new data package on Saturday to cater to families.
The package, Kuota Keluarga (Family Quota), offers 90GB of internet per month across all its networks and can be shared with up to five registered family members.
"This product is for all family members. If usually there are parents who rarely use data [on their phones], the children can utilize the unused [data] to browse the internet, such as watching YouTube, streaming films, playing games and uploading photos on Instagram," said Telkomsel marketing director Rachel Goh in a statement.

The operator is offering three types of the aforementioned package, namely Kuota Keluarga Lite, which provides 20GB of internet for Rp 150,000 (US$11); Kuota Keluarga Advance, which boasts 40GB of internet, 5GB of entertainment and unlimited phone and SMS use for each member, with the price starting at Rp 250,000; and Kuota Keluarga Ultimate, which offers 80GB of internet, 10GB of entertainment and unlimited phone and SMS use for each member for Rp 400,000.
