Final trailer for Batman spinoff 'Joker' released A still from 'Joker.' (DC Entertainment/File)

The final trailer for the highly-anticipated movie Joker was released by Warner Bros. on Wednesday.

Actor Joaquin Phoenix plays Batman's mortal enemy, the Joker, whose background in life is clearly depicted in the trailer.

The nearly 3-minute-long video is the bleak life of Arthur Fleck, a stand-up comedian who continues to fail to gain success and a big stage. Disappointment and despair can be seen through the expression of Fleck, who is still trying to cheer up a child on the bus, even though he was reprimanded by the child’s mother.

Accompanied by the song "Smile" by Nat King Cole, the trailer was opened by Fleck who worked as a clown in charge of holding signboards on the streets. The work led him to be abused, even once lying in an alley.

In another part of the scene, Fleck said with a drooping body: "My mother always tells me to smile and put on a happy face. She told me I had a purpose to bring laughter and joy to the world.”

Fleck experienced so many disappointments that made him a bitter person and, eventually, turned him into a killer. Near the end of the trailer, he has put the Joker-style makeup on and displays a new evil personality.

Actor Robert De Niro was present as a talk show host who mocked Fleck on television, sparking great hatred. While actress Zazie Beetz played the role of the woman who Fleck was infatuated with. Frances Conroy, Bill Camp and Marc Maron also participated in this film.

As reported by CNNJoker is scheduled to be screened at the Venice Film Festival, becoming the first comic film adaptation to appear at the event, and will air in theaters starting Oct. 4. (ran/kes)
