A wax figure of Indonesian singer Agnez Mo will be the latest addition to Madame Tussauds Singapore.
The figure will be the first of an Indonesian artist to appear in the Singapore venue.
"I was thrilled when I heard the news and I am honored to be included. My future set in Singapore will show different iconic looks, where guests can recreate my look. Only at Madame Tussauds!" said Agnez in a release made available to The Jakarta Post.
The singer was chosen by the Madame Tussauds team as she is the most awarded Indonesian artist in history.
The sculpting process will begin on Friday. The team will meet her in Los Angeles to take more than 200 measurements, which are needed for accuracy.
Agnez plans to broadcast the measuring on her Instagram account @agnezmo.
The popular Madame Tussauds wax museum was established in London in 1835. Currently, it has 23 branches all over the world, including in Thailand, the Netherlands, Australia and the United States.
Indonesian figures such as President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, singer Anggun C. Sasmi, badminton player Rudi Hartono and first president Soekarno have their wax statues at the museums.
Jokowi’s statue has been located at the Hong Kong museum since 2017, while Soekarno figures can be found in Madame Tussauds in Bangkok and Hong Kong.
Anggun’s statue has graced the Bangkok museum since 2016, while Rudi Hartono’s is in the Singapore museum. (gis/wng)
