The year's favorite features and trends on Instagram included the Stories feature and the singer Ayu Ting Ting.

opular photo sharing application Instagram has revealed this year’s favorite trends and moments in Indonesia captured on the platform.   

Users posted the most photos on national holidays such as New Year's Day, Easter and Idul Fitri, as well as the school holiday season.

The most popular hashtags were #indonesia, #katakatabijak (wise words) and #reseprumahan (homemade recipes).

Instagram has also become the widely accepted place where people come to seek more of their favorite celebrities. The most beloved accounts in the country, based on the level of interactions, were singer Ayu Ting Ting (@ayutingting92), celebrities Raffi Ahmad and Nagita Slavina (@raffinagita1717) and actress Prilly Latuconsina (@prillylatuconsina96). Also on the list are singer Syahrini, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, actress and singer Gisella Anastasia, actress Luna Maya, actress and singer Natasha Wilona, singer Raisa and actress Chelsea Olivia.

One of the most cherished features on Instagram is Stories, with 500 million active users across the globe. The most popular stickers and filters in Indonesia in 2019 included location, time, question reshare, "Orange" (by @mollesy) and "Mono" (by @ya.molli).

In 2019, Instagram added numerous features to Stories, including allowing users to share their favorite Netflix films and series, launching Ramadhan-themed GIFs and allowing anyone to create special face filters by opening the Spark AR Studio augmented reality platform. (wng)
