Reprising their roles as lead characters Brata and Vera are actors Oka Antara and Laura Basuki. A police officer with a supernatural ability, Brata is able to see segments of criminal incidents by touching the evidence. Vera is a forensic doctor working with Brata in solving crimes.

Directed by Kuntx Agus and Aldo Swastia, the cast of Brata Season 2 also features Yayu Unru, Dewi Irawan, Ully Triani, Rendy Kjaernett, Nicole Christy and Emil Kusumo.

In the new season, the estranged Brata is assigned to the archive department and has to face a complicated case of serial killing, which forces him to confront his own past.

Season 1 of Brata was met with awards, including Best Actor, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Editing and Best Original Program by Streamer/OOT at the 2019 Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA).

Guntur Siboro, country head of HOOQ Indonesia, said that making the second season of Brata was a demonstration of the commitment to supporting the Indonesian entertainment industry.

“We want to give a chance to talented local filmmakers to showcase their work in the international scene,” he said. (wng)
