Spotify has released the Map of the Soul:7 The Enhanced Album by BTS, which features exclusive contents.
The new album of K-pop superstar BTS, Map of the Soul: 7, was released on Friday with much fanfare.
It marked the biggest preorder volume for an album by a South Korean act, having sold more than 4 million presale copies worldwide.
Its fandom, called ARMY, dominated Twitter with the hashtag MAP_OF_THE_SOUL_7 in the run-up to the album’s release. Meanwhile, a 30-second clip of BTS’ new single was released on TikTok and videos featuring the song, with the #onchallenge hashtag, garnered more than 56 million views by Saturday.
The album is said to celebrate the group’s seven years together. It has the longest track list ever from the group, with 15 new songs plus five songs from their previous album.
The newest feature that fans can enjoy is the Map of the Soul:7 The Enhanced Album.
Available exclusively on Spotify, the album is curated with original content and features exclusive material.

In a statement, Spotify said that BTS was the first Asian group to partner with the platform to create an enhanced album offering fans exclusive content, from Storylines (personal written commentary sharing the inspirations and stories behind each song), Canvas (bespoke eight-second video loops on every track) and audio messages that allow fans to get to know the members better.
In the audio messages, BTS shared favorite moments in their seven-year journey, the message they want to convey through this album and what they think the next seven years would look like for BTS.
Previously, Spotify collaborated with Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey and Tame Impala on enhanced albums.
Map of the Soul: 7 features collaborations with Australian singer-songwriters Sia and Troye Sivan, in tracks “On” and “Louder Than Bombs”.
In 2019, BTS’ EP Map of the Soul: Persona broke the Guinness World Record for the bestselling album from South Korea, with more than 3.71 million copies sold around the world. (wng)
