IDN Media acquires Demi Istri Production, launches IDN Pictures

Upon the acquisition, Fajar Nugros and Susanti Dewi as founders of Demi Istri Production will join IDN Media to lead IDN Pictures.

IDN Media acquired independent film company Demi Istri Production on Tuesday and has launched IDN Pictures.

Demi Istri Production was founded in 2013 by director Fajar Nugros and producer Susanti Dewi. Upon the acquisition, Fajar and Susanti will join IDN Media to lead IDN Pictures.

“I am very excited to work together with Fajar Nugros and Susanti Dewi," said Winston Utomo, founder and CEO of IDN Media, in a statement. "I am confident and optimistic that under the leadership of Fajar and Susanti, IDN Pictures can become the leading film company in Indonesia that will have a positive impact on and be an inspiration for society."

Fajar and Susanti have produced and directed popular films such as Cinta Brontosaurus (2013), Yowis Ben (2018 and 2019), Jakarta Undercover (2017) and Terbang Menembus Langit (2018).

“We believe in the vision of IDN Pictures and we are optimistic that through IDN Pictures we can create many impactful films for millennials and Gen Z viewers in Indonesia. We already have several films in the pipeline and we are very much looking forward to releasing these films in the near future,” Fajar and Susanti said.

IDN Media is a media-tech and content platform company for millennial and Gen Z consumers in Indonesia. It operates several outlets, such as IDN Times, Popbela.com, Popmama.com, Yummy, IDN Creative, IDN Event and the IDN Creator Network, among others. (gis/wng)
