T

here is ongoing buzz that Katy Perry’s new song “Daisies” might be a collaboration with her fellow American pop singer Taylor Swift. Perry said that fans will have to wait until Friday to find out.

The two pop stars are known for their colorful history as friends-turned-enemies for several years before they finally reconciled in 2018. Perry addressed the fans’ theories during her interview for Extra TV, a portion of which was posted on the TV show’s Twitter page on Tuesday.

Perry was being interviewed with her fellow “American Idol” judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, when she was asked to comment on the possible collaboration.

“Well, you’re just gonna have to tune in to ‘Idol’ next week if all rumors are true or false,” Perry was quoted as saying.

The theories about the two’s collaboration took off when Perry first dropped the release date for “Daisies” on May 8.

Fans noticed that on the same day, Swift posted a cryptic photo of herself wearing a daisy sweater while quoting her song “End Game” from her 2017 album “Reputation”.

According to Swift’s fans, a collaboration might be in the horizon because of the date’s (May 8) significance to the two singers, as seen on @blessedswifty’s Twitter post on the same day.

During the first day of Swift’s “Reputation” concert tour in 2018, Perry sent an olive branch and a letter to Swift to end their feud.

Swift and Perry’s misunderstanding began in 2014 over an issue with their concert dancers. During that time, Swift and Perry were both out on tour to promote their respective albums, “Red” and “Prism”. Swift’s dancers reportedly left her halfway through their series of shows to join Perry’s tour.

Since their reconciliation, Perry has appeared in Swift’s music video for her track “You Need To Calm Down”. That single is part of Swift’s latest album “Lover”.

Meanwhile, Perry announced last March that she was pregnant with Orlando Bloom’s child through her music video “Never Worn White”.
