Netflix action thriller film helmed by Indonesian director Mouly Surya and featuring American actress Jessica Alba in the leading role is currently in the works, according to Variety.
Mouly, who directed the critically acclaimed Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts, which was chosen as the Indonesian entry for the 91st Academy Awards’ Best Foreign Language Film, shared Netflix's announcement of the news on Saturday and how she was grateful for all the "support and confidence" given by the public.

Penned by Josh Olson and John Brancato, Trigger Warning follows a "traumatized vet", played by Alba, "who inherits her grandfather's bar and soon discovers the truth behind his death."

Sources told Variety that the project was a potential "franchise starter" based on the success of previous Netflix actions flicks, such as Extraction, which starred Chris Hemsworth and involved the dynamic duo Joe and Anthony Russo as co-writers and producers.
Alba, who is set to host Disney Plus' documentary series Parenting Without Borders, reportedly would also serve as executive producer for the upcoming film. (kes)
