he Writers’ Show program is searching for new and talented Indonesian writers, including those who already have manuscripts and hope to publish their stories in physical and electronic books.

Selected participants will have the opportunity to join kelas menulis (writing classes) mentored by six editors from publishers under the Kompas Gramedia group. They will also have the chance to have their books launched and participate in international and national book fairs in 2021.

The Writers’ Show was initiated by Gramedia Writing Project (GWP), an online writing platform where people can share their writings. Aside from uploading their stories, members of GWP can also read other users’ works and show their appreciation with likes and comments. Furthermore, members of GWP will have the chance to get their stories published in physical and electronic books via publishers within the Kompas Gramedia group.

GWP was established in 2013 by entertainment and digital media company Rekata, which holds the intellectual property rights of six publishers in Indonesia within the Kompas Gramedia group, namely Gramedia Pustaka Utama, Elex, BIP, M&C!, Grasindo and Penerbit Buku Kompas. (wir/wng)
