orbidly comedic thriller Dead to Me is to have a third and final season, after Netflix renewed the Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini show.
Lauded for its layered story, its complex, solid characters and its exquisitely well-timed moments of levity (who can forget James Marsden jumping eagerly and intensely on a miniature trampoline?), Dead to Me features Christina Applegate (Samantha Who? Anchorman) as Jen, an embittered realtor with anger issues whose husband Ted was tragically killed in a hit-and-run car accident.
Judy, played by Linda Cardellini (Freaks and Geeks, Mad Men), befriends Jen at a grief support group, telling her that she lost her own fiancé, and helping Jen pursue a police investigation into Ted's death and moving into her guest house.
It's like Fuller House with more murder and betrayal.

Secrets buried and unearthed throughout the course of the show keep it driving forward, Judy propelled by her own terrible past and Jen reeling not only from her loss but her new status as a single parent and the discoveries she makes about her dead husband.
Debuting in May 2019 with a second season arriving one year later in 2020, Dead to Me scooped five major award ceremony nominations for Applegate, including nods for the Screen Actors Guild, Primetime Emmys, and Golden Globes, and a Writers Guild of America accolade for its creator Liz Feldman.
As Season 2 was renewed in June 2019, a May 2021 release for a third and final season seems likely now that Netflix has given it the green light.
