The 'High Fidelity' series has been discontinued by Hulu after one season.
The Hulu series High Fidelity starring Zoe Kravitz has been discontinued after one season.
The series was a reimagining of a movie from the year 2000 that was adapted from Nick Hornby’s 1995 novel, both of the same title as the series. Kravitz plays as record shop owner Rob, a gender-swapped version of the lead character played by John Cusack in the movie.
“I think the show has a lot of potential,” said Kravitz back in June to Variety regarding a possible second season. “I think there’s a lot more growing to do for everybody and a lot more trouble to get into. There’s a lot of places we could go and I would love to go there.”
Originally ordered more than two years ago to Disney Plus, the show was then moved to Hulu in April after Disney gained control of the streaming service, since it fit Hulu’s adult themes more than Disney’s family-friendly theme.
Kravitz’ mother Lisa Bonet also starred with Cusack in the film, playing his character’s ex-girlfriend Marie DeSalle.

Released on Valentine’s Day, the 2020 adaptation written by Sarah Kucserka and Veronica West finds Rob as she revisits past relationships with the help of music and pop culture. Rob’s record shop is located in Brooklyn, and the soundtrack was created under the guidance of Questlove, renowned drummer and cofounder of hip-hop group The Roots.
Following the cancelation, Kravitz posted a thank you note on Instagram to the series’ cast and viewers.
“I wanna give a shout out to my #highfidelity family. Thank you for all the love and heart you put into this show. i’m in awe of all of you. and thank you to everyone who watched, loved and supported us.” (car/wng)
